The XLIGHTS Story

XLIGHTS, under the MAXXLights brand, was founded in 2003 by two guys who wanted to provide R/C Enthusiasts with world-class LED lighting solutions including single lights, headlight and tail light assemblies, flood lights, and other lighting accessories to help users "Get Lit!" One of these two guys, Will Rogers, Jr., remembers, "XLIGHTS was born out of the communities need for a very reliable, universal LED lighting solution. When I could not find LEDs that were good enough for both day and night use I worked with designers and engineers to make me the ultimate LED. I wanted a 6mm LED and a 3mm LED that were as high-intensity as current materials and technology would allow. What we ended up with were lights that were visible for 1+ mile during the day, that operated under a range of voltages common to the R/C world, and had a very long functional life. The rest is history." Well, it does take more than great lights to make a company. While Rogers realized that an opportunity existed to provide super high-intensity LEDs to the R/C community, he also recognized that good, consistent, customer service was crucial. "How many times do you buy something and the people at the other end of the transaction seem like they could care less if they got your business or not?," commented Rogers. "I made sure that every customer that called or emailed knew that we appreciated their business. It was because of them that we were able to create a business doing something we loved, being part of a hobby and community of great people, and make a living at it." That is what truly sets XLIGHTS apart. Great products and great respect for our customers. Which brings us to the XLIGHTS Lifetime Warranty. Saying you have great products is one thing, but standing behind them is another. That is why, since the first MAXXLight LED was sold, we have offered our lights with a Lifetime Warranty (in BIG print): The XLIGHTS Lifetime Warranty It is simple. XLIGHTS LEDs are guaranteed for a lifetime from manufacturer defects. This means that as long as the LEDs are used in accordance with our specifications (powered by 4.8VDC - 8VDC, applied with proper polarities) they will be replaced if they stop working. Each XLIGHT LED is tested as it is manufactured and again before it is shipped. Each LED undergoes a "burn-in" period and is visually inspected (the LED, wire leads, connectors, etc.) as part of this process to ensure that when the LED is shipped we are doing everything we can to make sure your project is not delayed because you get a "dud". We, ourselves, are R/C enthusiasts and nothing is more frustrating that driving to the hobby shop or ordering something online, only to get the item out and find out it doesn't work! We don't like it and neither do you. So, you have our commitment that our goal is to ship nothing but the highest quality, tested products. Bottom line, we appreciate your business and work hard both to earn it, and keep it. Over the next few years new and innovative products were introduced under the MAXXLights banner including LEDs for emergency R/C projects, the LINK-7(tm) light harness, flood light housings, and other accessories for sport and scale R/C products and projects. Today, XLIGHTS has thousands of satisfied customers around the world that choose XLIGHTS for their plane, heli, truck, car, and other R/C projects. In addition, XLIGHTS, with our exclusive high-intensity 6mm and 3mm LEDs, has expanded into the commercial and scientific communities where our lights are found in a variety of products including specialized lights and test equipment. In 2007 XLIGHTS began a rebranding effort that brought the MAXXLights product line under the XLIGHTS name. In Q1 2008 we are introducing a new logo, we have started to update our website, and we are working hard to prepare for the release of new and exciting XLIGHTS products in the coming months.
